    2. Looks pretty much as expected. I would assume DiG!C III is a given, since there is no point in using an older generation chip in a new camera. It’s in every new p&s for crying out loud! Overall, this looks like my next camera. ;-)

LiveView and increased speed is nice. I am glad it seems to stop at 10 MPx and Canon can resist the urge to bump up pixel count for marketing sake. I wonder if the AF has gotten improvements too.

    3. Looks like just a rehash of what they already have. Move some features around, try to make it more user friendly, charge more, etc.

Still not in the same class as a Nikon.

    10. Hmmm, not that impressed… Bigger LCD of 3″ is nice. Not sure how useful Liveview is in an SLR without tilting LCD screen so I can hold overhead and still see the scene (goes for the 1D Mk III also). Otherwise, not much of an upgrade… 8Mpix 30D –> 10Mpix 40D not really significant.

Overall, almost 2 year old Nikon D200 can take this on and still has better ergonomics.

    13. What’s boring is the reference to the D200 by those know-it-alls. It’s not MPx alone and the D200 has a lot of noise to deal with (in RAW) but most importantly it’s nowhere near as fast, or the screen as nice, no liveview and not the dynamic range of Canon sensors, let alone sensor cleaning.

    14. So basically it D200 with sensor cleaner. Nice to see Canon play catch up to Nikon for change. Look like every other plastic Canon toy. Still wont drag me from M8.

    18. I would sell 400D for this model! Also Nikoners are mostly moro.. with their oudated technology, Sony made sensor, and 3 times less line of lenses made all made in China …

    19. Seems like quite a nice update to me. I hope that there is no price increase. I might be interested in this. I like the live view and the 3″ lcd. Comparing it to a Nikon D200 sounds like sour grapes from a Nikon user and btw who cares. As for the comparison to to the M8 that’s really absurd. It’s like comparing the state of the art Canon to and old relic revived for a last gasp from Leica.
